- Goodhew then put another hard shot into the stomach of Dorchin in the 39th minute.
- DU finished the half with 12 shots to six for the Minutemen. The Dukes had five shots on goal to two for UMass in the opening 45 minutes.
- A Ryan Goodhew cross was tipped by Dorchin to Hopfer who was unable to convert early in the second half.
- Minutes later, a Hopfer cross was just missed by a streaking Zach Mowka in the box.
- In the 59th minute, a Goodhew shot was saved and rolled to Tom Tzabari, who put it in the net, but the play was nullified by an offside call.
- A Hopfer missile in the 64th minute that was headed for the upper left 90 was knocked away in spectacular fashion by Dorchin.
- DU keeper Domenic Nascimben matched Dorchin's outstanding save with one of his own on UMass' Yosuke Hanya in the 93rd minute. Hanya headed a cross from deep inside the six when Nascimben reacted with a quick right hand to knock it away. Hanya then put the rebound over the crossbar.
DUQUESNE HEAD COACH CHASE BROOKS
"It was a great battle between two good teams. I'm proud of the effort we put forth for the full 110 minutes. That's the type of result where that earlier this year or last year maybe wouldn't have gone our way. To battle and ultimately have some better chances to win the game - I'm proud of the guys. Now its time to move forward."
