McCANDLESS, PA. - Jalen Adaway scored eight of his 12 points in the final 2:13 to break open a tight game and help St. Bonaventure extend its win streak to six with a 65-61 victory over Duquesne at Kerr Fitness Center on the campus of La Roche University on Saturday night.
Tavian Dunn-Martin scored a game-high 18 points for Duquesne. He was joined in double-digits by
Michael Hughes, who posted a 15-12 double-double, and
Marcus Weathers who finished with 10.
The win gave the Bonnies, who defeated the Dukes 62-48 in Olean, N.Y. on Jan. 15, a sweep of the season series.
The score was knotted at 55-55 with just over two minutes left when Adaway converted a three-point play and followed with a put-back dunk of a Kyle Lofton miss to make it 60-55 with 1:28 left.
Following a Duquesne miss, Adaway was fouled and hit one-of-two free throws with 1:11 left to make it 61-55. SBU rebounded the second miss and was able to run the clock to under one minute before a Lofton miss in the lane.
Weathers was fouled on a made field goal, missed the ensuing free throw and Hughes was credited with a bucket on an Osun Osunniyi goal tend. Adaway followed with two free throws to make it 63-59.

Chad Baker 3-point attempt and scored to make it 63-61 with :08 left.
 Lofton, who scored 14 of his team-high 17 points in the second half, buried two free throws for the final margin.
The first half had a little bit of everything including an early eight-point lead for Duquesne, a late 10-point lead for St. Bonaventure, one technical foul and one flagrant 1 foul.
Duquesne jumped out to a 12-4 lead, before the Bonnies held the Dukes scoreless for over seven minutes in putting together a 17-0 run that made it 21-12.
SBU upped the lead to 29-19 with just over three minutes left when
Ryan Murphy ignited a 13-2 half-closing run with a jumper.
Toby Okani and Murphy added 3-pointers for the Dukes who took a 32-31 lead on three Dunn-Martin free throws with :02.8 left.
The Dukes, who missed nine consecutive shots during the Bonnies' run, made six in a row during their late run.
Duquesne took a brief five-point lead early in the second half, but neither team led by more than four from the 18:12 mark until Adaway converted his three-point play.
The Dukes return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Fordham (6:00 p.m. on ESPN+).

- With his three 3-pointers, Tavian Dunn-Martin passed Kenya Hunter (136) to move into the 9th spot on DU's career 3-pointers made list. Dunn-Martin (138 3-pointers) needs three more to pass Courtney Wallace (140) and take over the eighth spot.
- Dunn-Martin went 3-of-6 from the 3-point arc. The rest of the Duquesne team was a combined 2-of-17.
- Michael Hughes finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds in posting his second consecutive double-double. It was his third double-double of the season and 10th double-double of his career. In his last three games, Hughes is averaging 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds on .700 (21-of-30) shooting.
- The Dukes and Bonnies finished with 22 field goals apiece (DU 36.7% and SBU 39.3%). Duquesne went 5-of-23 from 3-point, while St. Bonaventure finished 3-of-13. The Bonnies outscored the Dukes 18-12 from the foul line.
- This was the first time this season that head coach Keith Dambrot used fewer than 10 players in a game (nine saw action).
- Duquesne's largest lead was eight at 12-4 at 13:55 of the first half ... St. Bonaventure's largest lead was 10 at 29-19 with 2:32 left in the first half ... there were five ties and five lead changes before St. Bonaventure took the lead for good on Jalen Adaway's three-point play that made it 58-55 with 2:13 left ... Duquesne led for 14:30 ... St. Bonaventure led for 21:35.
