  • Played in 58 Division I games at Charlotte (19), Pitt (30) and Duquesne (9) with 17 starts (five at Charlotte and 12 at Pitt).
  • Finished his career with 80 3-pointers and 16 double-digit scoring games.
  • Topped the 20-point mark twice.

As a Graduate Student (2020-21)
  • Joined the team on Dec. 11 and made his Duquesne debut at George Washington on Jan. 2.
  • Played in nine games.
  • Came off the bench to hand out a team-high three assists in 16 minutes vs. Davidson on Jan. 5.
  • Had seven points in 18 minutes at Dayton and added a season-high eight more in 14 minutes two days later at St. Bonaventure.
  • His 18-foot jumper with 1:02 left put Duquesne up for good, at 70-69, in the 71-69 come-from-behind win over Rhode Island on Jan. 20.
  • Saw his first action in a month at La Salle (Jan. 23 to Feb. 24).

As a Redshirt Junior at Pitt (2019-20)
  • Played in 30 of 33 possible games with 12 starts, all of which came in the first 16 games of the season.
  • Averaged 7.6 points in scoring in double-digits 11 times.
  • Led the team with 42 3-pointers (42-of-127, .331) and shot .833 from the foul line (25-of-30).
  • Had seven games with three or more 3-pointers.
  • Came off the bench to score a career-high 28 points (10-of-17 from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point) in his second game as a Panther vs. Nicholls State. It was the second-highest bench point total in Pitt history.
  • Hit four 3-pointers in scoring 18 vs. Wake Forest.
  • Suffered a concussion at practice on Jan. 31 that caused him to miss three games. Went 2-of-16 from the field in the two-plus weeks following his Feb. 12 return (a span of six games).
  • Pitt, which finished 16-17, went 8-4 in Murphy’s 12 games as a starter.

At New Mexico Junior College (2018-19)
  • Averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in helping the Thunderbirds to an 11-2 record before sitting out the second semester.
  • Scored in double figures 11 times with four games of 20 or more points.
  • Dropped a season-high 46 points on 14-of-26 shooting against Macomb Community College.

As a Redshirt Freshman at Charlotte (2017-18)
  • Played in 19 games with five starts after redshirting in 2016-17.
  • Averaged 6.7 points, 1.2 rebounds and shot 40.0 percent (32-of-80) from 3-point range.
  • Went 6-of-6 from 3-point in scoring a season-high 27 points vs. Old Dominion on Jan. 27.
  • Followed the ODU game with 10 points vs. UAB before suffering a season-ending broken foot at shootaround before the Feb. 3 game vs. Middle Tennessee.
  • Scored in double digits five times.

Personal
  • Originally committed to Tulane after leaving Pitt in April of 2020. His final list included BYU, East Carolina and UC Santa Barbara.
  • Was the first men’s basketball player to transfer to Duquesne from Pitt. The last player to transfer between the two schools was Darryl Shepard who played at Duquesne as a freshman in 1981-82 before moving across town.
  • Was a first team California Division-3AA all-state player at Calabasas High School.
  • Played his first two years of high school at Fairfield Prep in Connecticut and spent his junior year at Wilbraham & Monson Prep in Massachusetts.
  • His father, George, played basketball at the University of Bridgeport.
  • Completed his undergraduate degree in humanities at Pitt in the spring of 2020 and intends to pursue his master of science in leadership at DU.
  • Earned a spot on the 2019-20 All-ACC Academic Team.
