MOON TOWNSHIP, PA - Kyle Lofton scored 21 points, including a big 3-pointer with just over one minute left, to help St. Bonaventure (16-8, 8-3) extend its win streak to four with an 83-80 win over Duquesne (17-6, 7-4) at UPMC Events Center on the campus of Robert Morris University.
The win, SBU's eighth in a row over the Dukes, gave the Bonnies sole possession of third place in the Atlantic 10.
Tavian Dunn-Martin came off the bench to tie his career high with seven 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 25 for Duquesne.
Sincere Carry scored all 17 of his points in the second half and
Baylee Steele added 15 for the Dukes, who rallied from nine down to tie it with just over two minutes left.
The Dukes, who trailed by 10 with 15 minutes left, cut it to three before Lofton, who went 5-of-6 from the arc, hit a 3-pointer and Osun Osunniyi followed with a pair of free throws to make it 74-66.
Jaren English, who had 15 points, drilled one of the Bonnies' 10 3-pointers to make it a nine-point game with 5:33 to go.
Duquesne cut it to four on a
Marcus Weathers free throw and pulled to within two at 77-75 on a layup from
Maceo Austin off a pass from Carry.
Carry tied it at 77-77 on a fade-away in the lane with 1:34 to go.
Lofton then hit a 3-pointer off an inbounds play to make it a three-point game.
Carry's 3-point attempt on the next possession rimmed out and the Bonnies gained control of the ball with 43 seconds left.
Dominick Welch hit a bucket and added a free throw before Steele hit a 3-pointer just before the horn for the final margin.
There were six ties and nine lead changes in the first half that ended with St. Bonaventure holding a 43-38 lead. Dunn-Martin (16 points) and Steele (10 points) came off the bench to combine for 26 points in the opening 20 minutes.
St. Bonaventure, who outrebounded Duquesne 41-27, outscored the Dukes 34-20 in the paint and 20-12 in second-chance points.
The Bonnies shot 49.2 percent to 43.6 percent for Duquesne.
Duquesne is idle until Sunday, Feb. 16, when it heads to Bronx, N..Y. for a rematch with Fordham. The Dukes defeated the Rams, 58-56 in overtime in Pittsburgh on Jan. 15. Sunday's game, set for a 2:00 p.m. tip, will be televised nationally by NBCSN.

- Tavian Dunn-Martin came off the bench to tie his career high with seven 3-pointers on 15 attempts. Dunn-Martin's 25 points were the most off the bench by a Duke since Tarin Smith had 26 vs. Southern Illinois on Dec. 23, 2017. The junior guard went 7-of-9 from the arc in scoring a career-high 30 points vs. UMass last season.
- Sincere Carry scored all 17 of his points in the second half. Carry, who finished with eight assists, has 25 assists and four turnovers in his past three games.
- Michael Hughes finished with six blocked shots.
- Baylee Steele's 15 points were his most since he scored a career-high 20 vs. Indiana State at the Junkanoo Jam on Nov. 21. The 6-11 Steele finished 3-of-4 from the 3-point arc.
- St. Bonaventure's largest lead was 10 at 53-43 at with 14:59 left ... Duquesne's largest lead was two, the last of which came at 33-31 with 4:51 to go in the first half ... there were seven ties and nine lead changes before Kyle Lofton gave the Bonnies the lead for good at 80-77 with 1:14 left ... St. Bonaventure led for 33:22 ... Duquesne led for 2:46.
