Duquesne (15-3, 5-1), which saw its five-game win streak snapped on Wednesday night at Rhode Island, remains on the road to face Massachusetts (7-12, 1-5) on Sat., Jan. 25 at 2:00 p.m. (ESPN+). The UMass game completes a stretch of four-of-five on the road for the Dukes, whose 15-3 record is the school's best since 1971-72 (16-3). DU, which hasn't won in Amherst since 2011 (span of four g.), is looking to go 6-1 in A-10 play for the first time since that same 2010-11 season (8-0). Duquesne, which is among those receiving votes (13) in this week's AP Top 25, is 2-1 on the road. UMass, which is coming off a 63-53 loss at George Mason on Wednesday, is 6-3 at Mullins Center, including a 1-1 mark in Atlantic 10 home games. No members of the current DU roster have ever played in a game at UMass.

- Duquesne is among those receiving votes (13) in this week's AP Top 25. It is the fourth time the Dukes have received votes this season (Dec. 9, Dec. 16 & Jan. 13 are the others).
- DU's 15-3 start is the school's best since 1971-72 (16-3).
- This is the second-straight year that the Dukes are 5-1 in A-10 play, and third time in 43 seasons that DU has five wins in its first six league games (8-0 in 2010-11 is the other).
- DU is coming off its second-worst defeat under Keith Dambrot (77-55 at Rhode Island on Wed.). The Dukes have followed three of their four worst losses under Dambrot with a win.

- Duquesne has held four of six A-10 opponents under 40 percent from the field. DU is limiting A-10 opponents to 62.8 ppg.
- Junior Marcus Weathers, who is shooting a team-best .601, leads the Dukes at 14.3 ppg. Weathers, whose career high entering the season was 19, has scored 20 or more a team-high four times.
- Junior center Michael Hughes ranks sixth nationally in blocks per game (3.17) and fifth in block pct. (15.35) according to KenPom. His 57 total blocks rank sixth in Division I.
- The balanced Dukes have six players averaging between 9.2 and 14.3 points per game.
- Seven players have either led, or tied for the team lead, in scoring and six have scored 20 or more in a game. The six 20-point scorers: Marcus Weathers (4 times), Tavian Dunn-Martin (2 times), Sincere Carry, Michael Hughes, Baylee Steele & Lamar Norman Jr. (once each).
- Duquesne's 58-56 overtime win over Fordham on Jan. 15 was Dambrot's 50th at Duquesne. Only two DU coaches reached the 50-win mark in fewer games: Chick Davies who led the Dukes to three NIT and one NCAA appearance (1925-43; '47-48) and Donald "Dudey" Moore who coached six NIT and one NCAA team from 1949-58.
- Duquesne is 8-14 in road games - including 8-13 in A-10 play - under Keith Dambrot. Duquesne's four A-10 road wins last season (at Richmond, at GW, at Fordham & at George Mason) tied the program record. It was just the fourth time a Duquesne team posted four A-10 road wins. The Dukes - who were the last Division I team to play a road game - are 2-1 on the road, with both wins coming in conference play (at Saint Joe's and at GW).
- The Dukes have won eight in a row at home while playing at three different venues (PPG Paints Arena, D-III La Roche University and Robert Morris). DU has been displaced by season-long renovation work which is being done to the on-campus UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. Duquesne has had to board a bus for 16 of its 18 games this season (La Roche is 10 miles from DU's downtown campus, Robert Morris is an 18-mile trip).
- Under Keith Dambrot, DU is: 41-3 when leading with 5:00 left ... 38-10 when scoring 70 or more points ... 33-3 when the first to 70 points in a game ... 32-7 when holding opponents under 70 (including 13-0 this year).

- UMass has won six of the past eight meetings, including the past four at Mullins Center ... DU, which has won two of the past three in the series, hasn't won at UMass since Feb. 16, 2011 (81-63).
- Danny Nee's Dukes snapped a 16-game series losing streak (dating back to 1991) with a 78-69 win over the Minutemen on February 6, 2002 at the Palumbo Center. Since then, UMass has won 12 and Duquesne nine.

- Duquesne, which led 40-30 with 18:33 remaining, was outscored 47-17 in the second half.
- The game was tied at 46-46 with 11:49 left. It was a two-possession game (56-50) at the eight-minute mark.
- DU went 4-of-24 in the second half in scoring a Dambrot Era low 17 points. The 55 total points were a season low.
- Marcus Weathers (7-of-8 from the field) was the lone Duke in double figures. No other DU player had more than two field goals.
- Freshman Maceo Austin finished with a career-high 10 rebounds (five offensive) for the Dukes who outrebounded the Rams 42-38.
- It was Duquesne's first loss when leading at the half (38-30) and when outrebounding its opponent (now 11-1).
