HARMAR, Pa. – Duquesne went a perfect 2-0 this weekend with victories over Toledo and Mercyhurst. Both matches were played on Sunday.
The morning started out with a 5-2 win over the Rockets. The Dukes took the doubles point with
Jared Isaacs and
Alex Mascioli winning at #2 and
Drew Akins and
Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal at #3. Mascioli and Isaacs won in straight sets at #3 and #4 singles.
Chris Corrao and Akins were winners at #1 and #2 in three sets, with Corrao clinching the match.
In the afternoon, the Dukes dominated the Lakers 7-0. After Corrao and
Dane Bendel won #2 doubles and Akins and Rodriguez-Vidal won at #3 doubles, Duquesne went on to win all six singles matches. Corrao, Mascioli, Isaacs, Rodriguez-Vidal, Bendel and
Joey Matthews all were victorious in straight sets.
