YORK, Pa. – The 10-ranked Dukes rolled to a 6-0 record in taking the top spot at Northeast Conference Meet #2 at Colony Park North lanes in York, Pa. over the weekend.
The Dukes (41-16) defeated No. 13 Mount Saint Mary's (922-874), LIU (999-868), No. 17 Fairleigh Dickinson (983-864) and St. Francis Brooklyn (916-818) on Saturday, before coming back to turn back No. 19 Sacred Heart (965-861) and Saint Francis U (986-969) on Sunday.
With the perfect weekend, Duquesne will take a 10-2 record into NEC Meet #3, scheduled for Feb. 22 at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, N.J.
Duquesne averaged 192.4 in the six traditional format matches, with a "low" of 916 in the win over St. Francis Brooklyn. Second-place Sacred Heart was next at 187.5.
Freshman
Kiearra Saldi led the field with a 212.00 average. Saldi rolled a 242 against FDU and a 234 vs. Saint Francis U.
Megan Cook averaged 197.33 in three matches, including a 241 in the win over Sacred Heart.
Jessica Cadez had a trio of 200-plus games in placing among the Top 10 with a 195.00 average.
Olivia Farwell and Crystal Elliot, who bowled five games each, averaged 186.40 and 184.00 respectively.
Allison Hresko posted a 177.00 - also in five games - for DU.
NEC Meet #2 closed out the fall portion of the schedule for the Dukes, who will return to action at the American Heartland Conference IV & V at Pittsburgh's AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes on Jan. 25.
