NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After two impressive performances that led to a pair of road wins, the Atlantic 10 announced on Monday afternoon that junior guard Amanda Kalin has been named the conference's Player of the Week.

Kalin averaged 15 points, 8.5 rebounds 6.5 assists, and turned the ball over just three times in 81 minutes of action for a 4.3 assist to turnover ratio. Kalin excelled from the free throw line, knocking down all 17 attempts that she earned.

The Gibsonia native nearly registered a triple-double against Iona, supplying 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while also tallying a block and a steal against the Gaels. Duquesne was able to fend off a late comeback from Iona, as Kalin recorded seven of the Dukes' 16 points in the final quarter to win 76-74.

Not to be outdone, Kalin led the squad with 15 points in a come-from-behind win over Lafayette. Once again, Kalin posted a perfect mark from the charity-stripe, converting all eight attempts. She brought down eight rebounds and dished five assists in the victory. Duquesne trailed 57-54 with just less than 25 seconds remaining on the clock, as Kalin buried the game-tying 3-pointer with just a few ticks of clock remaining to force overtime. The Dukes kept momentum going in the extra period, outscoring the Leopards 16-8, as the Dukes escaped Easton with a win.

The honor is the first time a Duke has been named player of the week since Chassidy Omogrosso earned the accolade on Jan. 22, 2018.  

The Dukes, winner of three consecutive road games, are back in action this Saturday, when Duquesne makes the two-mile trek to the Petersen Events Center for the 38th annual City Game against Pitt on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
