Duquesne finished 16th with a 6-7 record at the KU Invitational at Limerick Bowl in Limerick Pa. over the weekend.

The 23rd-ranked Dukes went 1-4 with a 189.3 average in five baker matches, with all four losses coming to nationally ranked opponents. DU rolled a high of 953 in a 1044-953 loss to No. 5 Sam Houston State in its final baker match.

In traditional play, the Dukes went 3-2 including a 954-924 win over No. 3 Vanderbilt. Olivia Farwell led the Dukes with a 191.8 average in her five traditional matches. Allison Hresko averaged 188.4 in five matches. Freshman Jessica Cadez posted a 199.3 average in the three matches she bowled, with highs of 231 and 225.

In the Sunday championship bracket, the 18th seeded Dukes came back from a 3-2 deficit to defeat 17th seed, and 21st ranked Adelphi 4-3. DU also beat 15th seed Maryville - ranked No. 22 nationally - 4-2 before falling to 16th seed St. Francis Brooklyn.

DU returns to action at the Golden Bear Classic at Berks Lanes in Reading, Pa. on Feb. 8-10.
