Kyra Murphy became the Duquesne women's soccer program's all-time leader in shutouts after the Dukes' 1-0 victory over Binghamton on Sunday afternoon. Casey Aunkst provided the only goal, converting on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • This was Murphy's 22nd career shutout, break the mark that has stood since 1998 by Kelly O'Neill
  • Murphy made four saves in the victory
  • Aunkst has converted five career penalty kicks
  • Duquesne had 11 total shots, led by Abby Losco with three
  • The Dukes' defense held Binghamton's leading scorer Kayla Saager to only two shots
  • Katie O'Connor returned to the starting lineup after missing the previous two matches

DUQUESNE HEAD COACH AL ALVINE
"It was great to get a win and get Kyra the shutout record. However, there still is a lot of room for improvement, which is a good thing. Binghamton is a good team, they've been on top of the [America East] Conference the last couple of years, so getting a win, especially with today's heat, was a good for us."
