The Duquesne women's soccer team will open the 2018 home season on Friday against Jacksonville. The Dukes (0-2-0) are coming off a pair of matches against Power 5 schools Arkansas and #4 Penn State last weekend.
Â
THE SERIES
The Dukes lead the all-time series 1-0-1. The first match was the 2005 season opener, which was part of the Marshall Tournament, a 5-2 DUQ victory. The teams met again, this time in Jacksonville, in the 2008 opener. In what looked like a 2-1 JU victory in the 119
th minute, it was realized that the overtime minutes were erroneously set at 15 minutes, as opposed to 10. The NCAA ruled the match a draw any statistical information recorded after the 110th minute declared is invalid.
MATCH TO BE STREAMED ON ESPN
Friday's match will be the first-ever home even streamed on ESPN , which replaces the A-10 Digital Network. ESPN is available for $4.99 per month. Yearly subscriptions may be purchased for $49.99. In addition to Atlantic 10 content, subscribers will have access to the full gamut of ESPN programming. For more information on acquiring an ESPN subscription,
