Former Duquesne guard Terri Mitchell finished her first season as special assistant to the head coach at Arizona State.

Mitchell, who who started her coaching career at ASU as a graduate assistant in 1989, helped the Sun Devils to 22 victories, a semifinals berth in the Pac-12 tournament and a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to returning to Tempe, Mitchell spent 18 seasons as head coach at Marquette from 1996-2014. She won 348 games, led the Golden Eagles to the postseason 15 times and was Big East Coach of the Year.

Mitchell graduated from Duquesne in 1989 and was team captain her senior season.
