Dukes have four in double-figures in 93-73 victory

LORETTO, Pa. – Coming into Sunday's game at Saint Francis U, Julijana Vojinovic and Chassidy Omogrosso combined for 28 points in the Dukes' first four games. The duo scored 33 points in Duquesne's 93-73 victory over the Red Flash on Sunday afternoon.
 
Vojinovic had a team-high 18, Omogrosso 15, Paige Cannon scored 17 and Kadri-Ann Lass added 11 for the Dukes (2-3).
 
The Red Flash (1-4) were led by Karson Swagger (21 points) and Jess Kovatch (20 points).
 
Duquesne, who led for all but 3:28, shot a season-best 42.9 percent from the floor – including 57.1 percent in the 2nd quarter. The Dukes capitalized on 21 Red Flash turnovers, converting them into 35 points. Duquesne was dominant in the paint, outscoring Saint Francis U 38-20 and 24-0 on fast break points.
 
With the score tied at 13-13 in the 1st quarter, the Dukes ended the period on a 13-5 run capped by Amanda Kalin's free throws.
 
Vojinovic gave Duquesne its first double-digit lead of the game 28-18 on their second possession of the quarter. The lead would get as high as 19 points after a Halle Bovell foul shot with 3:29 remaining until halftime made the score 46-27. Swagger's 3-pointer at the buzzer sent the teams to halftime with the Dukes ahead 56-41.
 
Libby Bazelak gave Duquesne its first 20-point lead when her jumper fell at 7:13 of the 3rd quarter. Laia Sole's layup at 1:07 put the Dukes ahead by 25 and Omogrosso's 3-pointer gave Duquesne its largest lead of the contest with 59 seconds remaining in the quarter.
 
The Dukes held off any sort of run Saint Francis U tried to capitalize on in the 4th quarter. Bovell's free throws with 2:11 left put Duquesne over the 90-point mark.
