HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hannah Nguyen's blast from 23 yards out got the Dukes on the board in the 75th minute
  • The play started with a throw in by Sarah Wilkinson, to Lexy Kendro, whose pass found a breaking Nguyen - after three steps, Nguyen place the ball over the head of Wildcats' keeper Sarah D'Hommedieu.
  • Davidson got the equalizer when Cameron France's header hit the crossbar, but Kendall Bushick was there to take the rebounded header past Dukes' keeper Kyra Murphy
  • Tori Kopchak led all players with five shots
  • All three point scorers for the Dukes are freshmen
  • Murphy made four saves, D'Hommedieu two
  • With Richmond's loss to George Mason, the Dukes jump over the Spiders into 10th place in the A-10 standings

DUQUESNE HEAD COACH AL ALVINE
"To lose two points in a game like today, is critical. The point today doesn't really help us in our quest to make the tournament. At the end of the day we have to be better at finishing games out and more clinical at finishing teams off. Until we figure that out, it's always going to be difficult for us. We still have two more games left, an opportunity for 6 more points. We can hope for the best and finish as high up at the table as we can."
