March 1, 2017 NTCA March Poll
PITTSBURGH - The first-year Duquesne bowling program is among those also receiving points in the March National Tenpin Coaches Association March Poll released today. It marks the first time this season the Dukes have received votes in the poll that is released monthly.
DU is 42-38 overall, with nine wins over teams ranked in the Top 25 - including wins over then-No. 10 Sacred Heart and then-No. 25 St. Francis Brooklyn at last weekend's NEC Fall match. Earlier in February, Duquesne went 10-3, with a pair of wins over then-No. 16 Adelphi in winning the Golden Bear Invitational.
"Winning the Golden Bear Invitational, and defeating a pair of ranked teams last weekend is a big reason why we received votes in the latest poll," said head coach Jody Fetterhoff. "It's great that other coaches are starting to recognize the talent of this young team. We hope we can finish off the season strong to get in the top 25."
The Dukes return to action at the Hawk Flight Invite in Egg Harbor, N.J. on March 3-5.
