2017-18 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Preseason Awards and Poll

RICHMOND, Va. - Duquesne has been selected to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The announcement was made as part of the league's annual media day held in Richmond, Va.

The Dukes received 160 votes, just 22 behind Dayton, who was chosen to repeat as conference champions. Saint Louis (174) and Saint Joseph's (170) rounded out the top three.

Individually, three Dukes were selected to the Preseason All-Conference teams.

Chassidy Omogrosso and Julijana Vojinovic were named Third-Team All-Conference. The junior guards are Duquesne's leading returning scorers, averaging 13.7 and 10.9 points per game respectively.

Conor Richardson was named to the All-Defensive team. The junior guard led the Dukes with 41 steals last season. In the quarterfinal round against George Washington at the Atlantic 10 Championship, Richardson pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds, which was the most of any player in the tournament.

The 2017-18 women's basketball season tips off on Friday, Nov. 10. with conference play beginning on Sunday, Dec. 31. The 2018 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship will begin with six first-round games being played on campus sites, Feb. 27, before heading to Richmond, March 2-4 for the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship final.
