Oct. 19, 2017

NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
October 19

Olivia Farwell, DUQUESNE
Fr., Right, Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown

WEEK 1 STATS: 20.82 overall frame average, .860 filled frames pct., .500 strike pct.

Farwell's first weekend as a collegiate competitor was fruitful to say the least. Helping Duquesne to a winning record through two days of match play at the Bud Whitman Memorial, the freshman anchored the team's lineup to the tune of a 20.82 overall frame average. That mark was the third-highest amongst all NEC players at the event. She filled 86 of 100 frames (.860) bowled while tying LIU Brooklyn's Lauren McKowen with a conference-high 55 strikes in 100 chances. Farwell averaged 21.58 pins per baker frame as the Dukes won three of five matches on Saturday, including a 1003-905 triumph over No. 15 Adelphi. During Sunday's traditional team competition, the first-year Duke accounted for a 200.6 game average. En-route to posting the 13th-best traditional average out of 120 players, Farwell shot a weekend-best 247 in a tight victory over Chestnut Hill. She posted a 225-pin performance in a setback to No. 12 Delaware State.
