CLOSE CALLS
Duquesne and Saint Joseph's have had 10 games that have been decided by five points or less or in overtime.

Feb. 25, 1984 - In the series' first contest, Saint Joseph's came away with a 74-70 win at the Civic Arena.

Jan. 25, 1986 - Despite building an 11-point lead, turnovers cost the Duchesses, who were without leading scorer Becky Oglevee, in their 64-59 loss at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Jan. 14, 1995 - Sherri Hannan made a 10-foot jumper at the buzzer to give Duquesne a 47-46 win at the Palumbo Center. The victory was the first-ever against Saint Joseph's, ending a 20-game losing streak against the Hawks.

Jan. 24, 1999 - With 28 seconds remaining, Kelly Eberhardt tied the game with a 3-point shot sending the game into overtime. Gina Naccarato scored six points and added two assists in overtime to lead Duquesne to a 65-58 win at the Palumbo Center.

Jan. 28, 2001 - With Saint Joseph's leading 64-60 with 30 seconds remaining in the game, Duquesne scored six straight points on four free throws and a field goal to come away with a 69-66 win at the Palumbo Center.

Feb. 9, 2003 - Shiri Sharon's 3-pointer broke a 49-49 tie and put the Dukes up for good in their 68-64 win at the Palumbo Center. Saint Joseph's would get within two points at 59-57 with 4:09 remaining, but Duquesne used a 9-3 run to take the largest lead of the contest, 68-60, with :27 on the clock. SJU hit two free throws and a put-back goal to end the game.

Feb. 9, 2008 - With Saint Joseph's leading 59-56, Duquesne had three chances to tie the contest in the final 24 seconds. Kristi Little's 3-pointer fell short, but the rebound bounced off a Saint Joseph's defender with 21 seconds remaining. Sam Thompson's 3-pointer was blocked by SJU's Brittany Ford with 14 seconds remaining and the loose ball was grabbed by SJU's Jenna Loschiavo, who went to the line shooting one-and-one. Her foul shot was off the mark and rebounded by Samantha Pollino. Little's attempt to tie the game at the buzzer was off to the left as the game ended with Saint Joseph's winning 59-56 at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Feb. 4, 2009 - Duquesne held off a late flurry from Saint Joseph's as a six point Duquesne lead with four minutes left went down to one on Brittany Ford's layup with 61 seconds to play. The Hawks had a turnover on the ensuing possession which led to Keri Pryor making the back-half of the double-bonus with eight seconds remaining. Mary Kate McDade looked to find Ford on the post, but her pass was deflected as the time ended in the Dukes' 61-59 win at the Palumbo Center.

Feb. 13, 2013 - In what is considered the game that kept Duquesne out of the NCAA Tournament, SJU led 54-53 with 1:23 remaining in regulation, but a foul shot by Vanessa Abel and a layup by Jocelyn Floyd gave the Dukes a 56-54 lead with 25 seconds left. SJU's Natasha Cloud was fouled with 7 seconds remaining and made both foul shots to tie the game. Abel's desperation shot at the buzzer was off. In overtime, Duquesne was up by four points with 1:44 remaining, but the Hawks came back with a layup from Chatilla van Grinsven and a 3-pointer from Erin Shields with 50 seconds left that made the score 67-66 in SJU's favor. After a Duquesne timeout, Ahjah Hall scored on a layup to give the Dukes a 68-67 lead, but a controversial foul by Stasia King with 18 seconds left in overtime sent van Grinsven to the line where she made both shots. A Jocelyn Floyd layup was blocked by Cloud with 18 seconds left and April Robinson's 3-pointer did not go at the buzzer in Saint Joseph's 69-68 win at the Palumbo Center.

Feb. 8, 2014 - Saint Joseph's Natasha Cloud's layup with 3.9 seconds remaining was the game-winning basket as Duquesne dropped a heartbreaker 61-59 at Hagan Arena in a nationally televised contest on CBS Sports Network.
