PITTSBURGH - Four Dukes scored in double figures, but a 4th quarter comeback would fall short as Dayton defeated Duquesne 75-64 Tuesday night at the Palumbo Center. Chassidy Omogrosso led the Dukes (9-9, 2-3 A-10) with 21 points, Kadri-Ann Lass added 12 points and Amadea Szamosi and Julijana Vojinovic each had 11. Szamosi had a team-high eight rebounds.

Kelley Austria scored a game-high 18 points for the Flyers (10-7, 4-1 A-10). Saicha Grant-Allen pulled down 16 rebounds.

FIRST QUARTER
Duquesne fell behind 10-2 at the media timeout and trailed 14-5 with 2:04 remaining. The Dukes scored the final five points of the quarter on a pair of Szamosi free throws and a Vojinovic fade-away 3-pointer at the buzzer that got the Dukes within four points at 14-10.

SECOND QUARTER
The Dukes got their first lead of the game on Vojinovic's second 3-pointer that made the score 19-17 at 6:29. There would be five lead changes and a tie before UD would take a 32-28 lead into halftime.

THIRD QUARTER
The Flyers scored three of the first four baskets to take a 38-31 lead at the midway point. This was part of a 22-4 run that gave the Flyers their largest lead, 21 points at 56-35. Duquesne scored the final six points of the quarter as Richardson's jumper as time expired made the score 56-41.

FOURTH QUARTER
Duquesne carried the momentum into the 4th quarter and by the 7:38 mark, the deficit was down to nine points at 56-47. A pair of Omogrosso free throws with 1:29 remaining would bring the Dukes within seven points. Duquesne went on to force a turnover with 1:15 to go, and the Dukes had the chance to make it a two-possession game, however Angela Staffileno's 3-pointer rimmed out. UD hit six straight free throws down the stretch to seal the game.
