Aug. 5, 2016 PARIS/BUDAPEST - The Duquesne women's basketball team began their foreign tour on Thursday evening. The Dukes flew overnight from Pittsburgh to Paris, arriving in the French Capital on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. local time.
From AÃÆ'Æ'©roport de Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, the team got to tour the SacrÃÆ'Æ'©-CÃÆ'…"ur Basilica (translated as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris) located in the city's Right Bank. Simply called the SacrÃÆ'Æ'©-CÃÆ'…"ur, the church stands at the highest point in the city at 426 feet above sea level.
The team also had the opportunity to see the Arc de Triomphe, the Paris Opera, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the MusÃÆ'Æ'©e du Louvre (home of the Mona Lisa), Champs-ÃÆ'Æ'ââ'¬°lysÃÆ'Æ'©es and France's most popular attraction the Eiffel Tower.
After touring the "City of Light", the team returned to the airport for a late evening flight to the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
The team will have an off day on Saturday before playing their first game against Bajai Noi Kosarlabda Klub in Szekesfehervar, Hungary on Sunday.
