Dec. 13, 2016

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne bowling coach Jody Fetterhoff has announced the signing of Olivia Farwell to a National Letter of Intent. Farwell is the first member of the 2017-18 recruiting class.

The Elizabethown, Pa. native, who has rolled a pair of 300 games with a high series of 811, posted a Lancaster/Lebanon League high average of 222 as a junior on the way to winning the singles championship and being named Lancaster/Lebanon Bowler of the Year.

Winner of four Pennsylvania Junior Bowlers Tournament titles, Farwell placed 144th out of 792 bowlers at the 2016 Junior Gold Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The 2016 PA State Pepsi Youth U20 Champion, Farwell won the PIAA State Eastern Regional Championship in March. A four-time team captain, she has led Elizabethtown Area High School to a state championship in 2013-14 and runner-up finish in 2014-15.

"Olivia is an accomplished bowler who will really have an impact our team next year," said Fetterhoff. "She has a great attitude and has bowled in - and had much success in - highly competitive tournaments. Her experience has prepared her to make a smooth transition to the next level. I'm very excited to have her join us next fall."
