PITTSBURGH - Amadea Szamosi led Duquesne with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds and
Chassidy Omogrosso scored 15 points as the Duquesne women's basketball team defeated Lafayette 67-52 Sunday afternoon at the Palumbo Center.
With the win, the Dukes improve to 5-6 for the season.
Sammy Stipa led Lafayette with 13 points.
FIRST QUARTER
The Dukes fell behind 10-6, but would end the quarter with Angela Staffileno scoring the last five points to take an 11-10 lead.
SECOND QUARTER
With the score tied 20-20, Nina Aho's 3-pointer with 25 seconds remaining put the Dukes ahead for good. The Dukes were would go into halftime with a 23-20 lead.
THIRD QUARTER
An 8-0 run gave Duquesne their first double-digit lead at 35-24, when Omogrosso found Szamosi on a fast break at the 3:43 mark. Angela Ribarich's jumper with 43 seconds remaining capped the scoring, with the Dukes ahead 41-33 heading into the 4th quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
A pair of 3-pointers scored by Julijana Vojinovic helped Duquesne to a 14-point advantage at 49-35 to start the quarter. Duquesne would find a lead as large as 17 points twice, first with an Anie-Pier Samson free throw with 2:42 remaining and then with a layup scored by Kadri-Ann Lass with 1:37 to go.

The Dukes head to Akron for a 5 p.m. game Saturday afternoon.

- Szamosi now has 15 career double-doubles, and four for the season
