QUICK RECAP: George Mason defeated Duquesne in five sets on Friday night 3-2.

SET 1: After eight lead changes and a pair of lead changes, a Sydney Fanoga kill put the Patriots ahead for good, winning the set 25-22. Madelynn Burnham led the Dukes with 13 kills.

SET 2: Duquesne used a 5-1 run midway through the set to turn a 9-8 deficit into a 13-10 lead, one they would hold the rest of the match. Back-to-back kills from Burnham gave the Dukes the set 25-17 and tied the match at 1-1.

SET 3: Mason scored the first seven points of the set and never looked back in their 25-12 win. The Patriots hit .375 for the set.

SET 4: The Dukes forced a deciding set after winning the first five points of the set. Duquesne recorded 13 kills in the set and hit.324.

SET 5: Leading 4-3 early in the set, Mason rattled off five straight points to open up a 9-3 lead. The Patriots would win the last five points of the set to win 15-6 and take the match 3-2.
