Oct. 10, 2016

Former Duquesne forward Diana Voynova (Class of 2011/Pernik, Bulgaria) has been selected to the Bulgarian National Team. She will participate in two games against Greece and Switzerland as part of the Qualifications to the 2017 European Championship that will be played in Czech Republic. The 16-team event will run from June 16-27, 2017.

"I'm very excited to finally be able to play for the national team," said Voynova. "I'm happy I'll get a chance to put on the Bulgarian jersey again. This is the last milestone in my basketball career."

Voynova played in 62 games in her two seasons with Duquesne leading them to a 44-23 record and two appearances in the WNIT. In 2011, the Dukes advanced to the WNIT's Sweet 16 after victories over Kent State and at Kansas. She scored 105 career points and hauled in 156 career rebounds for the Dukes. Her best individual game was on Dec. 29, 2009 when she recorded double-double in a 72-63 win at #19 Pittsburgh with career-best 10 points and 10 rebounds.
