Jan. 4, 2016 NEWPORT NEWS - For the second time this season, the Duquesne women's basketball team has swept the Atlantic 10 Conference weekly awards. April Robinson has been named Player of the Week and Chassidy Omogrosso Rookie of the Week.
The duo led the Dukes (13-1) to wins over Pittsburgh in the City Game 79-65 and Dayton in the conference opener 89-58.
Robinson finished the week averaging 20.5 points per game, 8.0 assists per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.7. Robinson made 55.6 percent (15-27) of her shots including half (6-12) of her 3-pointers.
Against Pitt, she scored 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting, making 4-of-7 3-pointers. In the A-10 opener versus Dayton, Robinson recorded the third triple-double in school history with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
This is her third Player of the Week honor this season.
Earlier in the morning, Robinson was named College Sports Madness High-Major and A-10 Player of the Week.
Omogrosso averaged 14.0 points per game and shot 52.9 percent (9-17) from the field, including 62.5 percent (5-8) from beyond-the-arc.
This is the second player of the week honor for Omogrosso.
The Dukes (13-1, 1-0 A-10) take their 12-game winning streak on the road to face George Mason (6-8, 1-0 A-10) for a Thursday night matchup at 7:00 p.m.
