Aug. 22, 2015 PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's basketball coach has announced that Olivia Bresnahan will return to the program as the team's graduate student manager.
Bresnahan, who played two seasons with the Dukes, graduated from Duquesne this past May with a degree in marketing. She will be pursuing her MBA when classes begin for the Fall semester.
A native of Butler, Pa. and a graduate of Butler High School, Bresnahan came to the Bluff after player her first two seasons at Florida State. In her two seasons with the Dukes, she started 54 of 56 games at guard, averaging 7.8 points per game. She scored a career-high 19 points in her first career game in a Duquesne uniform against West Virginia.
Off the court, Bresnahan participated in The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 13th annual "So You Want To Be A Coach" program. Just one of 50 student-athletes selected from over 300 applicants, Bresnahan took part in a three-day workshop held this past April in conjunction with the WBCA National Convention in Tampa, Fla.
In the summer of 2014, Bresnahan was an intern at Dick's Sporting Goods as a buyer for women's Under Armour apparel.
"We are excited to have Liv return to our program as our graduate student manager," said Burt. "Liv had many offers in and out of basketball upon graduation and chose to remain here at her alma mater. We believe she will provide an important bridge between the players and coaching staff, along with giving her valuable insight as a former point guard. We believe that Liv is a bright star in the coaching profession and it's an honor to have her back in the program."
The Dukes will start the 2015-16 season at Saint Peter's on Nov. 13th.
