Jade Singleton Accepts Assistant Coach Position at Delaware

July 8, 2015

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's basketball coach Dan Burt has announced that Jade Singleton has accepted the assistant coaching position at the University of Delaware. Singleton, who was promoted to director of basketball operations in July 2014, spent two years on the Dukes staff. She came back to the Bluff as a graduate assistant in July 2013 after a successful teaching career in the Duquesne City School District.

In 2009, Singleton was hired as an assistant at Oakland Catholic High School. In her three seasons with the Eagles, Singleton helped coach the team to a 62-18 (.775) record which included 33-3 (.916) record in WPIAL AAAA Section 3. In 2012, Oakland Catholic finished with an impressive 28-3 record and trips to both the WPIAL and PIAA Championship games.

Singleton played with the Dukes from 2005-08. Her senior season, she was named team captain and started all 30 games. She finished the year with a team-high 202 rebounds which was 10th best in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Additionally, Singleton shot 44.3 percent from the floor which was 15th best in the conference.

"Jade had an opportunity to get on the floor and coach, to be on the road and recruit," said Burt. "She is doing it for an accomplished coach. I have always admired Coach [Tina] Martin and her program. Jade will do a great job there. We are very proud of her work here and her future. Jade will always be a Duquesne Duke."
