June 11, 2015 This is the third profile in the series of the eight new Duquesne women's basketball players that will be joining the roster for the 2015-16 season. Today, Kadri-Ann Lass will be profiled.
A 6-3 guard from Tallinn, Estonia. Lass finished up her season in March playing for Audentese Spordigümnaasium/Noortekoondis, averaging double-double of 14.7 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game - both team-highs. She had career-highs of 28 points and 17 rebounds against AmEst Rapla on Feb. 12th. She had a career-high nine assists against Latvija U16 on March 1st. She has recorded 24 career double-doubles.
She played in the 2014 FIBA U18 European Women's Championship this past summer where she averaged a double-double of 12.0 points per game and 12.9 rebounds per game. She finished the 7-game event ranked 1st in blocked shots (3.0), 2nd in rebounds (12.9), 3rd in field goal percentage (50.0) and 4th in double-doubles (5). She also hit half of her 30point attempts. She had a career-high 21 rebounds in Estonia's 63-58 win over Israel. She was named Best Forward by Eurobasket.com and to the 2014 FIBA U18 European Women's Championship First-Team.
Lass has also participated in the 2013 FIBA U18 Division A European Women's Championship as well as the 2011 and 2012 FIBA U16 European Women's Championships. Her career-high of 28 points came against Norway in 2012.
In 2012, Lass was named MVP of SuperFinals of the U17 Eastern Europe Girls Basketball League while playing for Estonia SC Audentes Tallinn. Lass scored 24 points, leading her team over Latvia Kolibri Riga 67-62. She also led the Estonians to the finals of the 2013 FIBA 3X3 U18 World Championship in Indonesia before falling to the United States.
Lass plans on majoring in international business.
