PITTSBURGH - As reported earlier tonight, the Duquesne women's basketball team has earned an automatic bid to play in the 2015 Women's National Invitation Tournament. This marks the seventh straight post-season appearance for the Dukes.

Duquesne (20-11) will play at Youngstown State (21-12) on Thursday, March 19th with game time announced by officials on Tuesday, March 17. The winner will face the winner of the Stetson/Richmond game.

"We are proud to say that we have been selected for our seventh straight postseason appearance," said head coach Dan Burt. "Not many teams in America have been able to do that consistently. We will be preparing very hard over the next two days for a well-coached Youngstown State team."

The Penguins, who play in the Horizon League and earned an at-large bid, finished fourth in their conference behind champion and NCAA participant Green Bay, Wright State and Cleveland State. WSU and CSU both are in the WNIT field of 64. This is YSU's first WNIT appearance since 2013.

The Dukes and Penguins have played 15 times dating back to Feb. 26, 1974. The last meeting was Nov. 25, 2006 in the final day of the Hilton Wilmington Riverside Classic with Duquesne defeating YSU 96-49.

First-round action tips off Wednesday, March 18 and concludes Friday, March 20. Second-round games begin March 21-24, round three March 25-27, quarterfinals March 28-30, and semifinals April 1-2. The championship game will be played Saturday, April 4 and will be televised live and in HD on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET. All games are hosted by participating schools.
