Former Duquesne point guard Vanessa Abel (A'11, MSSL '13) has signed a professional contract with Stockholm 08 Dam of the Basketligan dam, which is the top professional women's basketball league in Sweden.

She played last season for the GiroLive Panthers Osnabruck in Germany's Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga League. In 22 games she averaged 9.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.5apg and 2.5spg.

Former Duquesne forward Diana Voynova (A'11), who signed a contract with Banca Stabiese Stabia in the Italian A2 Division in June, leads the team with 16.2ppg and 11.9rpg. After scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds in Stabia's 78-48 victory over Viterbo, Voynova was named Pick & Roll Player of the Week on Jan. 23rd.

Former Duquesne forward Wumi Agunbiade (A '14) is in her first season with CSU Universitatea Alba Iulia of the Romania-Riga Națională, which is the top-tier professional league in Romania. Agunbiade has led the team to a 16-4 record and is second on the team with 17.3ppg and 8.2rpg.

Former Duquesne guard/forward Orsi Szecsi (A '14) is in her first season with Aluinvent DVTK Miskolc in the Hungarian A-Division. She is averaging 9.4ppg and 6.0rpg. Miskolc is 9-5 and currently in 4th place in the 10-team A-Division.

Head coach Dan Burt has coached seven Duquesne players that have signed professional contracts. In addition to Abel, Voynova, Agunbiade and Szecsi, Alex Gensler (A '12) and Kristi Little (A '09) each played one season in Hungary and Jocelyn Floyd (A '13) played in Germany.
