PITTSBURGH - Derrick Colter scored 25 points and Micah Mason added 17 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals to lead Duquesne to a 83-73 win over Atlantic 10 co-leader Dayton at CONSOL Energy Center.
The win snapped a four-game series losing streak for the Dukes who shot 52.5 percent.
Dyshawn Pierre had 27 points and 12 rebounds for the Flyers.
Dayton hit three early 3-pointers in jumping out to a 13-5 lead, before Duquesne, behind seven points from Colter, rallied to take a 21-20 advantage.
Colter, who scored 13 in the first half, had 10 in the game's first nine minutes.
Neither team led by more than two until Dominique McKoy followed a Colter bucket with a three-point play to give the Dukes a 34-29 lead with 6:34 left.
DU held the lead until Pierre, who had 17 in the half, scored on a layup put the Flyers on top 37-36 with 3:03 left.
There were two ties and 10 lead changes in the half that ended with Dayton up 42-41.
Duquesne, which held Dayton to 3-of-13 shooting over the first 10 minutes of the second half, opened a 61-52 lead on a Mason 3-pointer with 9:53 left.
Dayton pulled to within five on a Pierre three-point play with 7:08 to go, but the Dukes answered with a Tysean Powell layup off a pass from Mason.
The Flyers cut it to five again before Mason hit two free throws and Colter converted a three-point play that made it 74-64 with just over five minutes left.
Dayton never got within seven the rest of the way.
McKoy, who finished with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals, set a new career high for assists with 5. Jeremiah Jones and L.G. Gill added 10 points each for DU.
The Duquesne bench, led by Gill, outscored Dayton's bench 20-5.
Dayton finished at 39.7 percent from the field, including 11-of-33 from 3-point.
Duquesne hosts Saint Louis on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Palumbo Center. Duquesne senior forward Dominique McKoy will be recognized prior to the game as part of Senior Day ceremonies. The game will be streamed live nationally by CampusInsiders.com.

- With his 3-pointer at the 18:06 mark of the second half (his 16th point of the game), Derrick Colter became the 38th 1,000-point scorer in school history ... Colter finished with 25 points in posting his 10th career 20-point game (3rd this season).
- Guard Micah Mason finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals in 40 turnover-free minutes ... the rebounds and assists both tied his career high ... it was his first career 40-minute game.
- Dominique McKoy, who finished with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals, set a new career high with 5 assists.
- The victory ended a four-game Dayton series winning streak ... the Flyers had held the Dukes to 62 or fewer points in their four previous wins ... today's win avenged a 26-point loss (81-55) at Dayton on Jan. 3 ... DU's 83 points were the most scored against the Flyers this year (the previous high was 77 by both Davidson and Fordham).
- The win snapped a seven-game DU losing streak at CONSOL Energy Center ... Duquesne's previous win at CONSOL was over West Virginia (60-56) on Dec. 11, 2012.
