Duquesne head coach Dan Burt can be connected to St. John's head coach Joe Tartamella based on the "six degrees of separation".
Burt coached with Tasha Butts in his first year at Duquesne. Butts played at Tennessee under head coach Pat Summitt. Former Mississippi State head coach Sharon Fanning was a graduate assistant under Summitt. Fanning had Sharrona Reaves on staff, who is currently an assistant at West Virginia with head coach Mike Carey. Liz Rapella played under Carey at WVU and served as the Assistant Director of Operations at Michigan in 2013 under Kim Barnes Arico. Prior to being head coach at UM, Barnes Arico was head coach at St. John's. Her top assistant was Joe Tartamella.
