Nov. 30, 2015 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced that Duquesne guard April Robinson is the league's Co-Player of the Week and forward Kadri-Ann Lass is the Rookie of the Week.

Over the holiday weekend, the Dukes played in the UNM Thanksgiving Tournament where she recorded a career-high 12 assists with one turnover in 38 minutes versus NC A&T. In the championship game against host New Mexico, she had a career game. Robinson had a double-double of career-highs 34 points and 11 rebounds along with career-tying 10 field goals. She was named tournament Most Valuable Player.
Additionally, she had moved into 3rd place on DUQ's all-time 3-point FG list with 185, 8th place on the all-time assist list with 409 and 16th place with 1,197 points.
"April has done a lot of everything for us this season - rebounding, passing, scoring and most importantly leading," said head coach Dan Burt. "This is a well-deserved recognition of her value to our program."
Robinson is currently 2nd in the A-10 with 17.8 points per game, 1st in assists with 8.0 per game and 1st in assist-to-turnover ratio with 3.2.
Lass averaged 14.7 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 54.1%. She scored a game-and-career-high 25 points and made 11 field goals while shooting 69% against Howard in the home-opener on Nov. 24th. On Friday against NC A&T, she recorded a double-double of 11 points and career-highs 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. In the championship game against New Mexico, she scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds while shooting 50%.
"Kadri has been a consistent force for us around the basket and her best basketball is clearly ahead of her. She scores and rebounds but her defense is underrated. Right now, she might be our best defender," said Burt.
For the season, Lass is the Dukes' leading rebounder with 7.7 per game, which ranks 7th in the A-10. Her 2.3 blocks per game is 5th in the conference.
This is the first time a Duquesne player has received back-to-back A-10 Rookie of the Week honors since Wumi Agunbiade ('14) did Jan. 24 and Jan. 31, 2011.
With the win over New Mexico, Duquesne (5-1) ended New Mexico's 16-game winning streak at The Pit. The Dukes will hit the road again for a two-game MAC swing beginning with Central Michigan on Thursday and ending at Buffalo on Sunday.
