QUICK RECAP: Tyler Dickson scored in the 106th minute to give Rhode Island a 2-1 double-overtime win over Duquesne at URI Soccer Complex. DU's Colin Phillips posted his fourth goal in his past three games to tie in the 86th minute, before Dickson snapped the Dukes' unbeaten streak at three with his game-winner in the second overtime. Ryan Oakley got the Rams on the board first with an unassisted goal in the 18th minute. The lone goal held before Phillips, who leads the Dukes - and the Atlantic 10 - in goals, found the back of the net for the 11th time this season off a pass from Fredrik Borenstein. Befitting a double-overtime game, the stats were nearly even as Duquesne had one more shot (14-13) and two more corner kicks (7-5) than Rhode Island. Shots on goal were even at 5-5. Sam Frymier recorded three saves for the Dukes, while Nils Leifhelm had four stops for URI. Dominik Richter was credited with six shots for Rhody, while Phillips led DU with five. Richter and Phillips tied for game-high with two shots on goal each.
NEXT UP: The Dukes conclude the regular season at home vs. Davidson on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. It will be the final home match for seniors Matt Essig, Sam Frymier, Alex Healion, Colin Phillips and Ryan Merrifield.
