RICHMOND, VA., - ShawnDre' Jones came off the bench to score 18 of his game-high 27 points in the first half to lead Richmond to a 86-55 win over Duquesne at Robins Center.

Derrick Colter led Duquesne, which trailed 49-27 at the half, with nine points.

Richmond, which shot .536, hit nine of its first 12 shots - including five 3-pointers - in jumping out to a 23-6 lead.

Jones (four) and Kendall Anthony (three) combined to hit seven of UR's nine first-half 3-pointers.

The Spiders made the Dukes pay for their seven first half turnovers, turning them into 17 points.

Richmond assisted on 13 of its 17 first half field goals.

UR, which led by as many as 33 in the second half, reached the 70-point mark on a ShawnDre' Jones free throw with 10:35 left.

Duquesne, which shot .404, saw Richmond turn its 13 turnovers into 29 points on the evening.

Anthony finished with 16 points - including four 3-pointers for Richmond.

Eric James and L.G. Gill scored eight apiece for Duquesne which failed to produce a double-digit scorer for the first time since November of 2012.

Duquesne returns home to face George Mason on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m.

NOTES

• The win was Richmond's ninth in a row at home over the Dukes ... DU's last win at Richmond was on Dec. 20, 1993 (67-60 in OT) ... Richmond is 18-1 against Duquesne (17-1 in the regular-season) since joining the Atlantic 10.

• Richmond upped its home record to 10-2 with the win, no team has scored more than 67 against the Spiders at Robins Center this season (William & Mary totaled 67 in a 68-67 loss on Dec. 3) ... Richmond's two home losses have come by a total of three points.

Micah Mason was credited with a career-high five steals ... his previous best was three, accomplished four times with the last vs. Rhode Island on Jan. 10.

• Richmond set opponent season highs for first half points (49), 3-pointers made (13) and free throw percentage (.929, 13-of-14).

• This was the first time since a 57-43 loss to North Dakota State on Nov. 20, 2012 that the Dukes did not have a double-digit scorer.
