Duquesne fell behind 5-0 in the 2nd set and called a time out. The Dukes got their first point of the set on a Mason attack error then followed by winning the next nine behind Kullerkann's serving to take a 10-5 lead. The Dukes jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead in the 3rd set. Maintaining the lead at 20-11, Mason would score seven of the next eight points to cut the deficit to 21-18.
