Box Score

Senior Carter Poe tallied his first collegiate goal 11 minutes into Friday's 3-0 Duquesne win over visiting Fordham Friday evening at Rooney Field.

Poe scored the memorable goal off assists from Simon Gomez and Philip Velasevic. Nine minutes later, Karter Sell scored his fifth goal of the season off a Joshua Patterson assist for a 2-0 lead which the Dukes took into halftime.

In the second half, Patterson registered his second assist of the game as he helped Austin Lange record his first goal of the season in the 59th minute for the final score.

Patterson and Gomez each fired three shots as the Red and Blue outshot Fordham, 14-11. Freshman Sam Frymier posted his fourth shutout of the year by making five saves.

The Dukes return to action on Sunday, Nov. 4 as they host La Salle at 1:00 pm.

The Dukes are currently in a sixth-place tie with Dayton in the Atlantic 10 standings, which invites the top eight teams to participate in its post-season tournament. A Dukes win or tie on Sunday will give DU a berth in the A-10 Tourney. A loss would require a tie or loss by two other teams on "the bubble" for DU to qualify.
