PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's basketball coach Suzie McConnell-Serio announced today that senior point guard Vanessa Abel will miss approximately 3-6 weeks with a stress fracture of the patella in her left leg.

Abel, who has started every game this season, is averaging 8.7 points per game and ranks third in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Duquesne (12-3) opens up the 2012 A-10 season on Saturday at St. Bonaventure (13-2).
