STOCKTON, Calif. - The Duquesne volleyball team finished the final day of the Community Bankers Classic by splitting its two matches. In the opening match, DU beat Mississippi State in one hour and 23 minutes, defeating the Bulldogs 25-20, 25-22, 25-15 for their fifth victory of the season.

In the second match, Duquesne took on the host team, Pacific. The Tigers dominated the first set, hitting .419, winning 25-13. With UP leading 18-17 in the second set, they took seven of the next nine points to win the set 25-19. Facing match point in the third set a Allison Foschia kill tied the score at 25-25. The Dukes would hold off three more match points before the Tigers' Samantha Misa kill and a Duquesne error by Sara Scheirmanended the set 30-28 and the match 3-0.

Both Foschia and Scheirman were named to the all-tournament team.

The Dukes return to Pittsburgh to face Robert Morris at the Sewall Center on Tuesday night. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
