Pittsburgh, Pa. – Sophomore outside hitter Emersen Schrom of the Duquesne University volleyball team earned her second consecutive Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor on Monday. She claimed the award in each of the first two weeks of the 2025 season, helping the Dukes go 3-0 over the weekend and extend their best start since 2008 to 6-0.

For the second straight weekend, Schrom delivered a standout performance, earning MVP honors at the Chick-fil-A Robinson Classic and a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She powered the Dukes' offense with 4.88 points and 4.38 kills per set while also averaging 2.46 digs. Over three matches, the Pittsburgh native totaled 57 kills, 32 digs, and seven blocks.

Schrom opened the tournament with her second double-double of the season, recording 14 kills and 12 digs, along with two service aces and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Loyola Maryland. She followed with another strong outing against FDU, notching 14 kills, 13 digs, and five blocks to secure her third double-double of the year in another 3-1 victory. She capped the weekend with a career-best performance in a five-set win at RMU, racking up 29 kills on 60 swings with a .467 hitting percentage and just one error, while also adding seven digs and an assist. Her 29 kills came within one of the program's all-time record for a five-set match.

With her dominant showing, Schrom now leads the Atlantic 10 in kills per set (4.64) and total kills (102), while also ranking first in both total points (122.5) and points per set (5.57).

Schrom is just the second player in Duquesne history to earn the honor in back-to-back weeks, and the first since 2014, joining program standout Arielle Love (2011–14).
