Spain Defeats Canada at FIBA U19 Championship

PUERTO MONTT, Chile - Canada's six-game winning streak at the FIBA U19 Championship came to an end on Friday after falling 69-55 to Spain.

Wumi Agunbiade had nine points and three rebounds for the Canadians who fall to 6-1 overall. Canada fell behind 17-10 at the end of the first quarter. Although the remaining three quarters were played close, Canada could not recover.

Canada will play two more games in the event and can finish as high as fifth place and no lower than eighth. Canada's next game will be against Japan (3-4) on Saturday afternoon. Canada will face either France or have a rematch against Russia to conclude its schedule.
