Final 2010-11 Duquesne women's basketball notes 
The 2010-11 Duquesne women's basketball season was another one for the record books. In addition to setting a program record with 24 wins, the Dukes led all NCAA Division I teams with 14 road victories and recorded its first-ever post-season victory.
Duquesne had wins over schools from the Big Ten Conference, Big 12 Conference and Big East Conference and NCAA Championship participants Dayton, Ohio State and Saint Francis, Pa.
The senior class of Kelly Britcher, Samantha Pollino and Diana Voynova finished as the winningest class in program history with 79 victories.
For the third straight season, Duquesne won at least 20 games and participated in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. Additionally, the Dukes received votes in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll for six straight weeks and received a school record 50 votes during Week 10. DU also received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll three times.
Duquesne had a pair of seven-game winning streaks during the season that saw them jump out to an impressive 20-4 record. The Dukes finished 9-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference and, via tie-breaker, earned a program-high #3 seed in the 2011 league championship.
As a team, Duquesne set school records with 2,291 points, 835 field goals, 1,312 rebounds, 517 assists, 362 steals and 155 blocked shots. Duquesne surrendered only 34 points to Robert Morris on Nov. 28th which set the program's Division I record for fewest points allowed against another Division I school.
Duquesne's 71-67 victory over then-ranked #12 Ohio State was the highest ranked-team the Dukes have ever defeated. The win was the Dukes' program-record seventh straight road victory. The streak reached an amazing 12 games in a row which also included Duquesne's first-ever win at George Washington in 24 tries dating back to 1983.
Individually, Duquesne took home six Atlantic 10 Conference awards and honors - the most-ever in one year. After winning the A-10 Rookie of the Week award six times during the season, Wumi Agunbiade was named Rookie of the Year. She was also on the A-10 All-Rookie team with Orsi Szecsi who was named A-10 Rookie of the Week two times. Junior Vanessa Abel earned her first-ever conference award when she was named A-10 Third-Team All-Conference. Pollino was named A-10 Second-Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference for the second straight season. Pollino was also voted to the Capitol One District 2 Academic All-America First-Team. Pollino finished her career 4th all-time in scoring with 1,437 points. She became just one of three players to score 1,400+ points and grab 700+ rebounds.
The players were not the only one to be recognized as Suzie McConnell-Serio was named the 2010 Dapper Dan Sportswoman of the Year for the second time.
Junior Alex Gensler scored her 1,000 career-point and moved up to #3 all-time with 172 career 3-pointers. Britcher joined Gensler on the all-time 3-pointer list by moving into the #8 spot. Jocelyn Floyd, who came within two assists and a rebound of recording a quadruple-double against Ball State, was ranked sixth in the NCAA with 4.5 steals per 40 minutes played. Abel, who finished the regular season leading all A-10 players in assists, was 62nd in the nation with 2.5 steals per game and 57th with 4.8 assists per game.
Sophomore Ahjah Hall came off the bench in 29 games and recorded career-highs in every category. Before missing the final four games with an injury, Carly Vendemia was shooting 51 percent from the floor.
