2011 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Teams 
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Wumi Agunbiade has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year as voted by the league's coaches. Additionally, Samantha Pollino was named Second-Team All-Conference and to the All-Academic Team, Vanessa Abel was selected Third-Team All-Conference and Orsi Szecsi, along with Agunbiade were named to the All-Rookie Team.
The six conference honors is a program-best for Duquesne.
Agunbiade, the six-time rookie of the week finished the regular season averaging 11.0 points per game and team-best 7.4 rebounds per game. The 6-2 forward had a team-best seven double-doubles and was fifth in the conference with a .521 field goal percentage. She is just the second A-10 ROY in Duquesne history joining Korie Hlede (1995).
Pollino earns her second straight Second-Team and All-Academic Team honors. The fifth-year senior averaged a career-high 12.4 points per game and is currently fifth all-time on Duquesne's scoring list. She is just one of four players in program history to record over 1,300 points and grab over 600 rebounds. Majoring in physical therapy, Pollino - a First-Team All-District 2 Academic All-American - has a grade point average of 3.88.
Abel earns her first-ever conference award. The junior point guard led the A-10 with 138 assists and was fourth with 69 steals. Since taking on the starting role midway through last season, Duquesne has a record of 34-15. Abel has a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Szecsi, who began and ended the season as the A-10 Rookie of the Week, finished the regular season averaging 7.6 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. Szecsi had a career day in the Dukes' 76-63 win at Charlotte when she scored a career-high 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
Duquesne, who received a first round bye as the #3 seed at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship, will face the winner of the #11 George Washington/#6 Dayton game in the quarterfinal round on Saturday night at 7:30 P.M. The event, held at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass., begins with opening action on Friday afternoon.
