MOVING ON: For the first time in program history, the Duquesne women's basketball team earned a post-season victory after its 64-56 win against Kent State in the opening round of the 2011 Women's National Invitation Tournament on Thursday night.
AGAINST THE BIG 12 CONFERENCE : This is Duquesne's third game against a Big 12 Conference team. The Dukes played a home-and-home series against Missouri in 2009 and 2010.
ROAD WARRIORS GO FOR 14: The Dukes are currently tied atop the NCAA with Houston and UCLA for 13 road wins. Kansas is 15-4 at home on the season, including a perfect 11-0 mark versus non-conference opponents.
HEY COACH, YOU LOOK FAMILIAR: Dukes fans will see a familiar face on the Kansas bench. KU head coach Bonnie Henrickson was at Virginia Tech when the Hokies were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Henrickson was 6-2 against the Dukes.
KENT STATE WRAP-UP: With Thursday night's win, the Dukes finished 6-0 this season against the Mid-American Conference ... Vanessa Abel led the Dukes (23-8) with 18 points. Alex Gensler scored 16 and Orsi Szecsi added 13.
