The Ragin Cajuns would get no closer than 18 the rest of the way.

"I was excited about our defensive effort in the first half," said Duquesne head coach Ron Everhart. "When we are active defensively, we've got a chance. Offensively we executed well and shared the ball extremely well. The thing we focused on this week was us. Seeing six guys in double figures is exciting for me."

The Dukes, who forced 13 of Louisiana's 21 turnovers in the first half, outscored the Cajuns 31-17 off turnovers. DU also shot well from the foul line, connecting on 19-of-25 including 10-of-12 by Evans who tied his career high for free throws made and attempted.

Everhart substituted liberally in the second half as 14 players saw action.

Duquesne returns to action on Wednesday against No. 17 (AP) Pitt in the annual City Game at CONSOL Energy Center. The Pitt game, set for a 7:05 p.m. (ET) tip, will be televised nationally by CBS College Sports.
