NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Duquesne freshman guard Belma Nurkic was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week after averaging 15 points per game and shooting 52 percent in the Dukes' two contests last week.

Nurkic scored a career-high 16 points in DU's 90-46 win over Buffalo on Nov. 14th and added 14 at North Dakota State on Nov. 20th. Nurkic hit 15 of her 23 attempts from the floor including five from 3-point range.

The Dukes are in Fargo, N.D. and will play North Dakota State on Tuesday. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m.
