PITTSBURGH - Ball State's Abby Milillo scored twice and added an assist as the Cardinals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Duquesne women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
The Dukes fall to 3-4-1 on the season while BSU improves to 6-2-0.
Duquesne got on the board in the 18th minute when Paige Maroney found Gia Marino in the crease for the game's first score.
Then, Milillo took over - she scored goals in the 24th minute, 71st minute and set up Sarah Orisich for the game-winner in the 72nd minute to put BSU up 3-1.
Rachel Laraway got DU within one goal in the 88th minute, but the Dukes ran out of time as Ball State took home the 3-1 win.
The Dukes were victimized by the post two times during the contest. Morgan Herbert's header in the 14th minute and Kristin Vinicky's shot in the 40th minute were just inches of finding the back of the net.
The final non-conference match of the season will be next Friday night when the Dukes head to Annapolis, Md. to take on Navy. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
