Box Score

Duquesne's baseball team lost the opening game of three with visiting St. Bonaventure, 16-8 Friday afternoon at Duquesne Field. The Dukes jumped to an early 3-0 lead, but allowed the Bonnies to score four runs in each of the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Matt Carson was 2-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, Andrew Heck was 2-3 with an RBI and a run, Rick Devereaux drove in a pair of runs, Anthony DeFabio had two hits and Mark Tracy hit his team-leading 11th home run.

Game two of the series is tentatively scheduled for noon on Saturday, but could change based on the weather forecast. Check GoDuquesne.com for any news before leaving for the game.
