Dukes Zipped by Akron, 7-4

Duquesne's baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision at Akron Wednesday afternoon. Andrew Heck, Mark Tracy and Johnny Elms each had two hits while Heck drove in a pair of runs.

The Dukes scored first for the fourth straight game as Jared Bowser drove in a run in the top of the second. However, DU wouldn't score again until the eighth inning when Tracy drove in Heck, then the Dukes added two more runs in the ninth as Heck singled in two. Matt Zarin pitched two scoreless innings for the Red and Blue while Robert Corsi finished the game with 1 1/3 scoreless.

The Dukes return to action on Friday, March 26 as they open Atlantic 10 play at George Washington at 3:00 p.m.
