DUQUESNE LATELY: Coming off a 69-58 win at Akron on Wednesday to improve to 4-1 on the season ... reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week Wumi Agunbiade recorded her third consecutive double-double with game-highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds ... four Dukes also scored in double figures - starters Vanessa Abel 14, Alex Gensler 11 and Samantha Pollino 10 with Orsi Szecsi adding 11 off the bench ... the Dukes had a 20 point lead cut to seven, but held Akron to just a pair of field goals in the final 3:20.
CANISIUS LATELY: Lost to Monday's opponent Buffalo 79-50 on Wednesday to fall to 2-3 on the season ... outscored 49-22 in the second half and 42-28 in the paint ... leading scorer was Janie Ruttle with nine points ... shot a season-low 31.3 percent from the field ... currently holds NCAA record with 490 consecutive game with a 3-pointer.
THE SERIES: Canisius leads 3-2 ... the first meeting was in 1982 when Canisius defeated Duquesne in the first round of the AIWA Tournament ... Canisius defeated the Dukes in a tournament the following year .... the teams split a home-and-home series during the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons ... Duquesne got past Canisius in double overtime last season.
